The Guardian Guards Capitalism

The Guardian, a newspaper based in the UK, sees itself as part of the left and as socialist leaning. Though it’s the platform that launched Edward Snowden’s revelations as the extent of US fascistic spying, its terrible politics were recently on display. In one article they compared the brave Communist led International Brigades in Spain to the fascist Al Qaeda genocidal sexists in Syria and in another, they taught the lie that “capitalism isn’t working”. Social democrats and their ilk love to push this lie. The truth is that Capitalism is working just fine. It is a system based on maximizing profit. It’s doing what it’s supposed to do — make the rich rich, keep the poor poor, and drive the human race to world war and massive death and destruction.

Capitalism is an economic relationship, the base, where maximum power is given to the capitalist based on the amount of labor stolen from the worker, the dispossessed proletariat. The economic relationship of capital determines the society it warps in order to preserve its system of production. The social forces that preserve the economic base are called the superstructure. Socialism is nothing more than a choice between capitalism and capitalism.

Social democrats and their ilk want to push the lie that capitalism isn’t working now. They want us to believe that capitalism can be reformed in such a way as to meet the needs of the working class. It can’t. The more labor that the capitalists steal, the more profit they make. They give us just enough to keep us from fighting back, but, in the end, they even take the crumbs they once gave back when they’re able to. The time period discussed where capitalism had an aberration was when the international communist movement was at its most revolutionary. The working class was on the move and fighting back against the tendencies of capitalism to do nothing but steal from us then, because it had revolutionary communist leadership.

The International Brigades sacrificed their lives in order to make a better world. They fought the fascists in order to help to liberate women from a sexist culture, religious ideology, and to help overthrow a fascist coup. They sacrificed their lives in order to help the entire international working class. George Monbiot, a writer for the Guardian, compared a fascist blowing himself up to liberate other fascists from a fascist prison so that more workers could be slaughtered in a civil war that is a proxy war between imperialists using religion as a façade to the International Brigades’ volunteers. How dare this author connect an individual willing to die for Al Qaeda to the thousands who died trying to liberate women and in the struggle for an internationalist answer to the fight against racism and capitalism! Despite the political weaknesses of the Old Communist movement, the comparison is disingenuous and a massive expression of ignorance. This sick and disgusting comparison was done in order to help to build sympathy for the most virile and fascist rebels fighting the fascist government. The working class does not have a fight with any of those factions. The workers in Syria need to join The Progressive Labor Party and fight for Communism. The butcher Assad and the various groups who serve either transnational terrorists or imperialists, who are the real terrorists, will never serve the working class. The Guardian doesn’t guard the working class’ interests, only Challenge Desafio does.

The Imperialist Dogfight Over Ukraine Has Nothing For The Working Class

The US has been the center of world reaction since it first took its baby steps into imperialism after it’s campaign of genocide against the Native Americans. The PLP is the center of world revolution as it rebuilds the forces of the working class. The US reversed or co-opted revolutions all over South America, Asia, and Pacifica, places where friends of PLP are now rebuilding a revolutionary movement to smash capitalism once and for all. Gunboat diplomacy, tyranny, and outright support for thugs and bandits who would protect their financial interests are the true history of the center of world reaction. Proving their reactionary streak is alive and well, not being satisfied with arming Jihadist sexists hell bent on genocide in Syria, now the US is supporting Nazis who toppled a UN monitored democratically elected president. Those hypocrites don’t even follow their own ideology.

The workers have nothing to gain from either set of bosses. They will get their pensions attacked and their subsidies slashed by the EU as part of an austerity program. Just as the Troika, the European Commission (EC), The European Central Bank (ECB), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), destroyed the lives of workers in Greece, Spain, and ravages them in Italy and Portugal, will now rip the worker’s pensions and fuel subsidies away from them as the “price of freedom”. The Orwellian conceit of “freedom is slavery”, though originally intended to attack the USSR, is clearly being illustrated in Ukraine. Russia’s fascists will no doubt take their pound of flesh from the workers to pay for their imperialist expansion, and are no alternative to the fascists in Ukraine. The US has their fascists in Ukraine locked, cocked, and ready to rock the working class out of all of their hard earned gains.

Obama is the primary puppet that pushes the reaction the US is constantly creating. It was not reactionary enough to deport millions, terror bomb children by drones, or push the racist attack on public education in the form of Race To The Top, but the first Black president has now helped to put Nazis back into power in the Ukraine. Once again, PLP’s analysis on race is proven to be correct as racist policies are advanced regardless of the race of the person advancing them. His leadership is best illustrated in how he appears to be playing checkers while Russia is playing a chess-like game of Chicken and Russian roulette.

The militaristic rhetoric that the US is pushing is a reaction to the coolheaded way the fascists in Russia are running the table in the Ukraine. Russia is challenging the US Empire and exposing their weakness. The US is moving a missile cruiser and other warships into the Black Sea now. Russia is playing the long game since they don’t have to invade the Eastern Ukraine now, though they have over 40,000 soldiers massed on the border. They know the EU and US austerity is going to cause unrest and a backlash. They can either play to win the elections or they can invade to protect Russian citizens from the Nazi-led hoards. They also have other options that will develop as the conflict unfolds.

This backlash will force the Ukraine to use their armed apparatus, the military and soldiers, as well as the Nazi paramilitary to crush the working class. So, the Ukrainian Sabre rattling rhetoric against Russia will create a military that can be used against the working class in order to ensure that the Troika gets its money. The workers have no dog in this imperialist fight, because the EU has little to offer Ukraine besides Greece style austerity cuts that would begin with an end to fuel subsidies. Those workers who sincerely believed in the lies of prosperity that fell from the bosses’ mouths are getting nothing from either the Fascists in Russia or the fascists in the EU/US/IMF alliance. There are no lesser evil bosses and there is no lesser evil; the working class can only rely upon itself organized by The PLP as the concrete vision for a society that meets our needs.

The Eastern Ukraine is where its industrial production is located along with a majority Russian-speaking population. Russia is wielding the ideological weapon of nationalism to seize control of the minds of the workers that live there as well as the factories located in a geostrategically important location.

Germany is caught in a bind as it is the de facto head of the EU and is also Russia’s largest energy trading partner. The EU is unwilling to attack Russia to the extent the US needs (see C/D). This inter-imperialist rivalry is speeding towards WWIII and only a Communist Revolution can stop it. Communists once took power in this part of the world, and, under PL’s leadership, can do so again, but this time really build a society that meets the worker’s needs. We won’t build Socialism, which is just another form of state capitalism, but an actual Communist society. The abolition of profit and the ideologies of sexism, racism, and nationalism that nurture it will end imperialist dogfights that create the lose lose conditions of Ukraine. The ending of capitalism will end imperialism.

The National Question Has Already Been Answered

Revisionists, particularly Maoists, love to sound sophisticated with the highfalutin’ language that they cloak their rotten ideas in. They say, “The National Question” when they discuss the reactionary ideology of nationalism. There is no national question. It is obsolete. It has already been answered. It is the definition of absurd and insanity to keep asking a question when an answer already exists or to keep doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different outcome. The current sectarian civil war raging in Syria is a perfect illustration of the obsolescence of the role of nationalism. Because of their fixation on nationalism, Maoists and their ilk have no theoretical method of analysis that will give them an answer to what is going on in Syria or what is to be done. Only PLP’s dialectically based theoretical framework of inter-imperislist rivalry can illustrate the balance of forces that do not have the working class’ interests at all.

The obsolete question these traitors to the Red Flag constantly phrase is, in general, “what is the role of nationalism in the revolutionary movement?” It should be better phrased, “what is the role of reactionary rotten divisive ideology that strengthens capitalism while dividing the working class and inducing them to fight and die for our master’s profits in the struggle for an egalitarian society?” There is no role for nationalism in the Communist struggle for working class liberation. None. All borders must be smashed. Workers must not be led to fight to create artificial borders that divide them. Racism is the filthy underbelly of nationalism. Nationalism will never lead to anything other than a new capitalist state apparatus brutalizing the proletariat — whether it is a Red bourgeoisie like China or Vietnam or brutal dictatorships or bourgeois liberalism. National liberation is future economic, political, and exploitative enslavement by a new set of parasitical bosses who may look, pray, speak or whatever like the local working class, but with clearly different economic interests. Nationalism clearly illustrates two dialectical categories: appearance vs. essence and form and content.

Appearance and Essence

The protests in the Ukraine clearly illustrate several dialectical categories. The most apparent category illustrated is appearance vs. essence. The primary contradiction that has steered these protests is the sharpening inter-imperislist rivalry. Though they have protestors battling cops and taking over buildings, the protestors represent one imperialist camp, and the state represents another, US and Russian imperialism respectively. How can protestors who tore down a stature of Lenin be considered any revolutionary force?  Which is the progressive nationalism? Should we respect a sovereign Ukraine? How absurd is it for people who mouth that they support Communism to support one imperialist camp or another?

PLP doesn’t support the imperialist centered politics of the Ukrainian protests at all. We do not support fascists, instead we smash them when we get the chance.  We do like the fact that angry workers are battling the police, yet we also know that there is a lot of choreography going on in order to manipulate us into seeing a facade of class struggle.

This is also illustrated in Syria. Assad’s regime is a repressive brutal weapon wielded in the interests of the wealthy Syrians and the Russian imperialists. Many on the left herald him. It is absurd to see such a butcher as any kind of pro-working class force. Opposed to him are a gaggle of rotten opportunists and a few secular nationalist militias. The Islamist fascists are all enemies of the working class too, whether they are moderate Islamists or radical Jihadists. They wield the rotten weapons of religious ideology, racism, and nationalism in the interests of one set of bosses or another — rich non-royal Saudis who bankroll Al-Qaida, rich royal Saudi Wahhabis who bankroll Islamist mercenaries, the imperialists in “socialist” led France and the liberal led US, or the Kurds. Not a single one of these myriad forces are aligned in the interest of the working class and none are fighting for Communist revolution.

Form and Content

There are many revisionists who hold up the Kurds as a potential revolutionary force. This is also illogical and wrong. The form of the Kurdish struggle is also shaped by the nations that the Kurds are in — Iraqi Kurds, Syrian Kurds, and those in Turkey. The Soviet Union helped to form, organize, and arm the PKK and it was one of the last Marxist guerilla parties. The political content of their struggle was saturated with the imperialist old line of the Soviet Union that opportunistically took advantage of the old Communist Movement’s fixation on the national struggle.

The Kurds are being coopted by Assad in one area where they have set up an autonomous zone and seized an oil well. They are now actively looking for international partners to develop and sell the oil to. These partners are going to be capitalists that support one imperialist camp or another. They will be parasites that will enrich one minute section of Kurds while the Kurdish working class will be exploited. How would a sovereign Kurdistan be any better for the working class there? Either way, whether the form be a nation or an organization actively engaged in the armed struggle for national liberation, the political content will not allow for the economic emancipation of the working class. The workers in a future Kurdistan can only be truly liberated by Communist revolution. Liberating the nation from the domination of an external force only further indemnifies the workers to a new set of bosses and a new form of exploitation.

There is no longer a national question any more than a law of gravity question, a Pluto question, or a creationism question. Why aren’t the revisionists asking an earth is flat question? The theory of relativity, modern astronomy, and a basic scientific approach negated those anti-scientific questions. The science of Dialectical Materialism applied by PLP to the old movement clearly illustrates the absurdity of maintaining a “national question” when there’s already an answer. The answer is that all Communists must struggle against the rotten ideologies of nationalism, racism, and sexism and smash all of the borders that currently exist. We must fight to build the PLP so that we can end the hell of capitalism once and for all, not just get new capitalists that look like us.

Workers are Fighting Fascism in Greece and Bangladesh

The working class all over the world has been under severe attack.  The primary conflict of inter-imperialist rivalry has been intensifying, as can be seen in recent events in Syria and a warming between US and Iran.  Whether or not this is a tipping point in the balance of forces between the US, Russia, and their allies, client states, and proxies, there are examples of the working class fighting back against fascism and for better wages.

When a neo-Nazi member of Golden Dawn in Greece murdered an anti-racist, anti-fascist rapper, Pavlos Fyssas, running street battles have continued to ensue.  These street battles are against the backdrop of the Troika’s, representative of the major international capitalists, attack on the working class.  Thousands and thousands of workers have been fired and are in a desperate situation.  The unions, though organizing massive one-day strikes, will not threaten the capitalist class’ hold on state power.  The forces of fascism are growing in order to protect the capitalist state as it seeks to keep the working class oppressed and exploited under the boot of capital.

Unfortunately, the revisionist Communist Party in Greece and other Marxist parties are not the ones leading the charge to smash the fascist Golden Dawn fascists.  The fightback is being led by Anarchists, a reactionary ideology parading as revolutionary and making a resurgence in Greece.   The Progressive Labor Party recognizes the contradiction of supporting the brave anti-fascists who are fighting both the organized force of the state, riot cops, and the forces of fascism.  We do not support Anarchism and recognize it to be a dead end for working class liberation.  We do support and are in solidarity with Anarchists smashing fascists.  PLP’s motto has been and always will be, “Death to the fascists! Power to the workers!”

Massive strikes are also occurring in Bangladesh as over 50,000 garment workers rallied in Dhaka.  The workers in Bangladesh provide $20 Billion dollars worth of production international capitalists, yet they make about half of what a Cambodian factory worker will make.  They were offered a raise of 20%, which they rightly called “inhuman and humiliating.”  They correctly replied with,“We are not the object of mercy, the economy moves with our toil,” pointing out that all value is produced by the working class and then stolen by the parasitical ruling class.  Thousands of workers in Bangladesh have been murdered in fires and building implosions this past year in the pursuit of profit.  Though all of these working class deaths were mostly women, there were men and children who died as well.  The families of those affected are also in desperate situations since capitalism doesn’t have to take care of the working class, only its own profit.

As the working class fights back, PLP will continue to grow.  Our friends in Greece and Bangladesh will continue to spread our message of Communist Revolution.  Anybody who wants to help build a new world that meets our needs should also help to build the PLP.

The Memory Hole And The Working Class Fights Back

In the midst of intensifying inter-imperialist rivalry accelerated by the crisis of capital, the working class is fighting back. This dark night has kept the Red Dawn of Communist revolution outside of the peripheral vision of the majority of the word’s workers, but the recent reform struggle victories and the intensifying class struggle both point to a proletariat that is not a vanquished foe.

The US ruling class was desperate to attack Syria so that they could maintain control of the natural gas and oil in the Eastern Mediterranean, control the flow of oil from Iraq to the sea, check the proposed pipeline that would have brought Iranian natural gas and oil through Syria, and to solidify their grip on the world’s supply of oil. Crisis is both danger and opportunity, the US was aware of both. They knew the danger of Russia maintaining its near monopoly of natural gas to Europe, reflected by Germany not even pretending to support the US since they have their own personal pipeline with fascist Putin’s reactionary Russia. The US ruling class tried to whitewash this imperialist adventure with the cloak of humanitarianism again. But, the US working class wasn’t buying it. Though it is a reform struggle, the millions of US workers who called their congressmen, the thousands who took to the streets in protests, and the hundreds who put out online petitions that hundreds if thousands signed both intensified the side of the contradiction against war as as well as isolating and identifying Obama as a servile war mongering hawk. Bertolt Brecht, a very influential Communist poet and playwright, said that the wars would end when the generals call a war and the soldiers refuse to fight. The PLP knows that the wars will really end when the soldiers don’t just refuse to fight for their bosses, but change allegiance and fight for the working class under The PLP’s Communist leadership. Nevertheless, we appreciate the sentiment and remain inspired by the show of international solidarity that kept the imperialists from running amok.

The bosses’ press is creating a memory hole as they are parroting the line that Fascist Putin put forward the idea of Syrian disarmament. It was not Putin, but war-mongering Kerry who suggested it as a sarcastic backhanded comment that was later capitalized upon by the Russian foreign minister, of course, now he’s trying to say he meant it all along. The US bosses are desperate to construct a narrative that maintains their militaristic posture while placing all blame for peace squarely on Russia’s shoulders. It has become apparent to all that the US no longer has a license to kill as unilaterally as it would like. We may have witnessed the incident that is bringing the American Century to a close. It’s funny how the bosses put forward time frames for their existence, for example, The Nazis thought they’d last a thousand years and The Red Army and material reality ended that nightmare, so it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see the US empire not even make it a century.

It is possible that Syria is now going to coordinate with the Kurds. The Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) was once a client of the USSR and was one of the last to put down Marxism as an ideology. PLP does not support the nationalist saturated politics of the PKK in any way, as they will not lead to the liberation of the working class, Kurd or otherwise. The PKK is not the only Kurdish group fighting for either a Kurdistan or a form of local autonomy. It is highly probable that since Russia was able to check the US on the Grand Game, they would now be looking to peel off another ally. Yes, the right wing opportunists in northern Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish zone are Pro-US, but they don’t speak for all of the armed Kurdish groups. Syria, and by association Russia and Iran, has begun to talk with the Kurdish rebels. These Kurdish rebels are also fighting with the Al Qaeda backed and other rebel groups.  An autonomous zone in northern Syria that would align with the Assad regime, destabilize the US’s weakening grip in Iraq, and help to fight the rebels in the countryside so Assad can focus his regular forces on controlling the urban production centers would be a real coup.  This would also allow Syria and Russia to have a covert, easy to deny, relationship with Kurdish militant groups much like Venezuela has with the FARC in Columbia.  They may arm and fund the groups palatable to The West, but the covert alliance would benefit them and also help to destabilize and threaten Turkey.  Kurds helping to patrol the Syrian border along Turkey would intensify that contradiction and may force Turkey to the negotiating table in contradiction to whatever the US ruling class would desire Turkey to do.

Meanwhile, the teachers in Mexico have been ruthlessly attacked by the state.  The riot pigs faithfully served the bosses as they attacked the teachers who are fighting against the same reforms that teacher’s unions in the US are lauding as victories.  The PLP, and all of its friends, must bring up a condemnation of the state violence against teachers fighting back.  We must bring it to our unions, our church groups, and all the mass organizations that we can so that we create an outcry against this massive assault on our class.  It is the same enemy and the same fight that teachers are experiencing, in various levels of intensity, all over the world that our comrades are facing in Mexico.  Each of these reform struggles will allow us to meet workers who can become Communist leaders in the PLP and help to lead our class to state power.

Did Russia interrupt an attempt to frame or goad Syria?

This morning, quite a coincidence occurred. Israel denied firing a missile which looks like an Iranian missile. Russia picked up the ballistic missile on its radar and asked what it was. Reuters news agency quoted an Israeli army spokesman who denied Israel’s responsibility for the missile attack. Could they have caught the US in the middle in a smoking gun set up? The US is desperate to wrest control of the natural gas, oil, and pipelines that will run through Syria.

Looking at how things developed, and at how the bosses’ press manipulated the story, one can’t help but suspect that a Gulf of Tonkin-esque set up was under way until it was exposed by Russian radar. Israel then tried to explain that it was a military exercise — yeah right. Just like the 20,000 marines in Jordan are part of a military exercise. Just like the aircraft carriers and battleships are all part of a military exercise.

Things are heating up between the imperialists and it will be the working class doing the dying. The PLP only stands on the side of the working class and staunchly opposes the Nobel prize winning war monger and the sexist fascist Putin and his puppet the butcher Assad.

Oil and Natural Gas are The Real Reasons Behind Syria and Sexism Continues in India

The fact that Obama has to get Congress to support the bombing of Syria illustrates the lack of actual evidence that the US has about the gas attack in Syria. It’s going to take more than a hundred YouTube videos and a Mossad phone tap to bomb Syria into smithereens this time.  He may be banking on the patriotic jingoism the bosses whip up about the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01 to help ram this through Congress. Apparently, now the US doesn’t mind acting as al Qaeda’s Air Force.  The hypocrisy of Obama standing and making a speech as a Nobel Peace prize winner while banging the drum to war and saying that he’s fighting terrorism while arming, funding, and now doing the work of taking out the air support that’s killing them is unbelievable.  Only a pathological sociopath, also called a bosses’ politician, could do that.

Inter-imperialist rivalry is the primary contradiction driving world events right now. The contradiction within the contradiction of this is capitalist vs capitalist, in other words, the capitalists of one group of nation states align with other capitalists in other nation states against their rival capitalists. The most powerful group of capitalists is still in the US. The recent move by Obama to ask Congress for support will now intensify the internecine capitalist struggle in the US.

Challenge has pointed out time and again that the ruling class is not a monolithic whole devoid of contradiction, but is made up of blocs that have their own interests and agenda. The old money liberal finance capital bloc that pulls Obama’s strings is not all-powerful.  The Isolationist minded new money capitalists may block him.  The Koch brothers and their ilk may oppose the main wing of US capital, but that does not mean that we support the fascists.  The Progressive Labor Party, unlike the misguided “leftists” in The Occupy Movement, does not support Left-Right unity.  We point to history as our guide to illustrate the fact that the Right will wipe us out the first chance they get – from the Kuomintang to Sukarto, fascists and nationalists kill Communists when they get the chance.  We know that the enemy of our enemy is our future rival, not a friend.

The imperialist rivalry between the US and Russia also stems from the US’s desire to enter into the natural gas market.  Russia already has a stranglehold on Europe’s natural gas markets, and the US would like to loosen their grasp.  There are Image1.7 billion barrels of recoverable oil and a mean of 122 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas” the Levant oil basin.

Unsurprisingly, 1.) Syria’s coast is part of the economic zone that would have the privilege of exploiting this gas and oil bonanza 2.) Israel is already exploiting this bonanza 3.) none of the bosses’ media has reported this find at all.  The Israel, US, France, Saudi, Turkey, and Qatari axis is feening to dominate this field.  Russia has no interest in letting this field fall into the hands of the US, thereby allowing their rival to weaken their influence in Europe.  Lebanon does not want to outright challenge Israel, and so is using their state apparatus to “protect the peace” in Lebanon, while actually de facto supporting Hezbollah’s backing of Assad.  If Assad is preserved, then they will have a better chance at renegotiating their rights to the oil and getting a bigger slice of the natural gas bonanza.  If Israel wins, then they can still negotiate since it was a proxy force doing the fighting.

Once again, it is oil that is the driving motive for the US to get ready to start a war and murder members of the working class.  The Progressive Labor Party does not support the butcher Assad nor his fascist hetero-sexist puppet master Putin.  We know that neither despot is a friend to the working class and will do all that we can to foment Communist Revolution and class struggle in their countries.  The USSR and Syria were once beacons and havens for Communists from all over the world.  We know that as PLP grows in the Levant, we will bring Communism back to the forefront.

Israel is now saying that they are willing to go alone if the US does not do the strikes that they threatened.  The al Qaeda saturated rebels are now feeling that the US will not attack.  The US had already given them battle plans for what to do after the strike. Now, due to the fact that workers all over the world refuse to support the bosses’ lies and support the war-mongering charlatan Obama, the bombing of Syria has been put off.  This is not to say that Communist Revolution is immanent or that these reforms have stopped the US from starting a war, it has just exposed how weak and impotent the US is becoming in a world where they have to dominate in order to protect their profits and empire.

Illustrating the extreme sexism in India, the first conviction handed out in the gang rape and murder of a young woman in New Delhi was for only 3 years.  The victim’s brother tried to kill the guy, too bad he didn’t.  On the exact same day that this conviction was handed down, another gang rape occurred and two of the rapists were cops.  Sexism affects women all over the world is a fundamental necessity of capitalism.  The Progressive Labor Party and its friends in India will continue to condemn these sexist acts of aggression against women.  We also condemn the millions of phony Communists in India who do not militantly struggle against sexism.  They should be ashamed of themselves.

Protest Imperialist War in Syria on August 31

“Same Enemy, Same fight; Workers of the world, unite!”

This chant illustrates why the Progressive Labor Party is bringing our message of the need for Communist Revolution to the working class in Brooklyn.  The PLP will be rallying against the US protecting its dying empire by murdering workers in Syria just like their police murdered Shantel Davis and other workers in this neighborhood.  The police protect the private property and enforce the laws that protect the bosses’ profits.

Fascism at home helps to build imperialism abroad.  The PLP stands against the bosses and their constant class war against us workers.  We want to resolve the class war so that the working class is victorious.  That message is going to resonate off of the buildings as we link the fact that the police are brutalizing and murdering the black working class in the US just like they are going to try to justify their bombing of the working class in Syria.

If you can organize a protest against the war in Syria, then you should do so.  If you can come to Church ave and Nostrand tomorrow at 1:00, then you should as well.  Spread the word.  We must fight against imperialist war!

update: Today is a day of action against war in Syria. If there is an event nearby, we need to bring the need for Communist Revolution as the only solution to imperialist war. Here’s the link to see if there are any events near you.

Obama Dreams of Armageddon

The rulers are banging their wardrums and the cacophony of lies from the warmongering Nobel peace prizewinning charlatan of civil rights, Obama, continues. The tried and true lies are getting repeated in the press of “Weapons of Mass Destruction”. This dejavu would be a complete farce if the lives at stake weren’t so tragic.

So while, Obama, the master of doublespeak and deportations who hasn’t done jack squat to stem the tide of racist police and vigilante killings like Trayvon Martin, Shantel Davis, Oscar Grant, and Ramarley Graham, makes a speech today about civil rights, he’s also getting ready to bomb and kill innocent workers.

The US is in a jam as the side they chose to win in the proxy war to oust Russia from the Middle East has now entered into their endgame in a rapid slippery slope to losing. Russia has already defeated the US once this century during the Georgian war where Russia trounced the US’ puppet’s forces; the US is desperate not to lose to Russia yet again. The US had their cronies in Saudi Arabia try to bribe Russia to abandon Assad, but their strategic military base and control of present and future pipelines are too valuable. It is doubtful that Russia will allow a UN mandate to pass that the US could use to follow the Libyan blueprint for mass destruction and regime change.

Illustrating the massive racism of the US ruling class, they are appearing to celebrate the legacy of Dr. MLK, yet they are ramping up for war and to kill Middle Eastern workers. Imperialism is the name of their game, and deception of the US working class is how they play it.

Another complication for the US is the fact that Russia has a sizable amount of forces in the area. Russia experimented with several weapons against US forces when they first entered into Iraq, including a missile responsible for the first M-1 battle tank death and possibly hand held satellite jamming technology. Iran allegedly hacked a drone and landed it. It is possible that Syria may have the ability to counter or intercept an attack by the US. Even if they don’t stop it entirely, should the attack on Syria cause US casualties, it may erode whatever confidence the working class has left in Obama while weakening their already frigid support for the war. This would potentially ensnare the US into a ground war in the Middle East while they’re desperate to engage China in Asia. As noted many times in Challenge, the recent drawdowns in Afghanistan and the exit from Iraq were not acts of peace, but a repositioning of forces to check Chinese imperialism in Asia and Africa.

On the other hand, Syria and Russia may allow a token surgical strike that takes out some weapons, ammunition, and possibly aircraft. This would allow the US to save face and for Syria’s forces to finish mopping up the rebels and thousands of transnational Al Qaeda Jihadists.

The worst-case scenario is that this conflict can quickly escalate to the Armageddon of World War 3. The US parallels the dying empires of The UK and France as they try to clutch on to their neo colonial empire. Should things escalate, millions and millions of workers will join the over hundred thousand that have already died in the proxy war. Yet, the capitalists do not care how much of our blood they have to shed to preserve their empire and their profits. Imperialist war was the gestation of the first Communist revolution. The Progressive Labor Party will do all we can to ensure that Communist revolution happens in whatever scenario, Armageddon or otherwise, that occurs in Syria.

Uprisings in Turkey, Cambodia, Germany, and South Africa

Uprisings in Turkey, Cambodia, Germany, and South Africa

Workers in Cambodia, Turkey, Germany, and South Africa are rising up in rebellion against imperialism’s economic crisis. Thousands of striking workers in Cambodia confronted scabs, soldiers, pigs, and the organized force of the state as they wielded sticks and stones to smash the Nike factory that exploits them. The protesters in Turkey are fighting against the reactionary Islamist tinged government that is meddling in their private lives by now making public displays of affection illegal. The Blockupy movement continues to rage against the ECB and either the pigs or the Yellow Union’s thugs in South Africa murdered another miner.

The rise in protests around the world should inspire workers to know that they can fight back. These struggles are challenging the state, but they are not a challenge for state power.

The Prime Minister, Erdogan, in Turkey is a self-righteous twit who made the absurd statement that anybody who drinks alcohol is an alcoholic.   Like all religious ideologues that are saturated with superstitious ideology, Erdogan is hopelessly disconnected from material reality and thinks the absurd is real.   Communist Dialectical Materialism is the antidote to all forms of religious ideology as religion is little more than organized ignorance in the interests of the ruling class.  We must keep in mind though, that the extreme gutter sexism an Islamic fundamentalist society is trying to creep into place will not be defeated by the everyday liberal sexism under the bourgeoisie.

You know things are getting bad in Turkey when Syria is saying that it’s a dangerous place…

Progressive Labor Party salutes the Brave workers and students who are standing up to the state apparatus in Turkey and helping to topple The Islamic ruling class’ ruling party, the AK Party or AKP.  The fact that demonstrations are raging in over 40 cities in Turkey as a response to the brutal crackdown by the police is truly inspiring.

PLP stands applauds the rebels who have challenged the building of a barracks and a mosque in a Taksim Square as a symbolic gesture against a place where protests have historically gathered.  PLP applauds the workers who are striking against the state in solidarity with the protesters.  PLP knows that the workers and students rebelling against the state need Communist Revolution.  Friends in the Middle East and Turkey should take full advantage of the situation to build PLP.
